Q. What is my login information for Chaffey Wireless Network?
Your username is the first initial of your first and last name (lower case) and your Chaffey College 7-digit student/employee ID number (e.g., if your name is Xavier Yan and your student/employee ID number is 0123456, your username is xy0123456).
Your password is your birth date in mmddyy format (e.g., if you were born on January 7, 1989, your password is 010789)
Q. Internet explorer displays the following error message: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority..." What should I do to resolve this issue?
To resolve this issue, install the Chaffey College certificate on your computer or Click Continue to this website. To install the certificate, follow these steps:
In Windows Internet Explorer, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
Click the Certificate Error button to open the information window.
Click View Certificates, and then click Install Certificate.
On the warning message that appears, click Yes to install the certificate.
: In Windows Vista, the same issue occurs with self-signed certificates. However, the option to install certificates is not available unless you run Windows Internet Explorer with administrator rights. To do this, right-click the Internet Explorer icon, and then select Run as Administrator.
Q. When connecting to the college wireless, I receive this Security Alert: This page requires a secure connection which includes server authentication.
The Certificate Issuer for this site is untrusted or unknown. Do you wish to proceed?
what should I do?
Browsers recognize trusted certificate authorities, and will warn you if the authentication was provided by an unknown or untrusted provider. This is because Chaffey College issued the security certificate. If you click on View Certificate, you should see that the certificate was issued by Chaffey College. Select Yes to connect to the wireless network.
Q. Why Clean Access Agent displays the message: "Clean Access Server is not available on the network", "No Clean Access Server found on the network", or "Network Error"?This error means that the Cisco Clean Access Agent is not able to communicate with the Cisco Clean Access Server: what should I do?
Personal Firewall can prevent the Clean Access Server and the Clean Access Agent from communicating with each other.
Configure the firewall to allow the Clean Access Agent access to the network
Uninstall the personal firewall
Disable Windows firewall:
Third Party software interferes with Cisco Clean Access Agent. Try to disable such software to see if the Clean Access Agent works
Internet Explorer is set to Work Offline.
To verify that Internet Explorer 7 is in online mode, do the following: Open Internet Explorer. Click Tools and look through the menu to find Work Offline. If there is a check mark next to Work Offline, then click on Work Offline to remove the check mark.
To verify that Internet Explorer 8 is in online mode: Open Internet explorer. Click File and look through the menu to find Work Offline. If there is a check mark next to Work Offline, then click on Work Offline to remove the check mark
Install Chaffey Security Certificate: Open Internet Explorer and click on Certificate Error. Click View Certificates. On the General tab of the Certificate window, click Install Certificate and follow the instructions.
Make sure that your laptop has a correct time. The time on the client machine might causes it not to trust the server certificate and prevents a secure connection to the Clean Access Server.
Q. I am getting the following message: Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available.
Do you want to proceed?What should I do?
To Fix the SSL Certificate error message, please follow these instructions (View screenshots):
Click No on the Security Alert Dialog box
Open Internet Explorer
Click on Tools, then Internet Options
Click on the Advanced tab Scroll down to the Security section
Uncheck the box "Check for server certificate revocation"
Close Internet Explorer
Restart your wireless connection
Q. I have been granted temporary network access and Clean Access displays this message: "There is a least one mandatory requirement failling. You are required to update your system before you can access the network". What should I do?
If your computer does not meet all the requirements, you are given a Temporary Network Access to update your computer or install an Anti-virus program.Clean Access checks for:
• Missing Microsoft Windows Service Packs or updates (windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7)
