In addition to developing technical skills, students in the dental assisting program study oral anatomy, general anatomy, and microbiology. An Associate of Science degree can be acquired by taking additional required courses. See a counselor for further information.

Requirements for the Certificate in Dental Assisting

DENTAL 400 Core Sciences
DENTAL 410 Preclinical Sciences
DENTAL 420 Radiography for Dental Assistants
DENTAL 430 Clinical Practice

All must be completed with a minimum grade of C.

Additional courses are offered to working dental professionals for career enhancement and continuing education units for licensing. Please seee our Community Education Website ( for details.
