Prerequisites for all Chaffey College classes
(English and otherwise) are listed in the college
catalogue. The list of classes (which includes the prerequisites)

As identified in the college catalogue, prerequisites for all English classes are now mandatory: Students are (or should be) blocked from enrollment in a class if they have not met the prerequisites pr if they have not placed into the class using the official assessment test. The English department suggests that instructors conduct an advisory assessment of students' writing abilities within the first two class sessions. Instructors may advise students that the students may not be prepared for the class in which they are enrolled. However, once students are enrolled in an English class and are meeting class requirements, the decision to remain in the class is ultimately theirs. |
