  1. SELECTING YOUR FIRST SEMESTER COURSES

    1. Guidance Courses

      The Counseling Department and the EOPS program offer guidance courses to help students successfully transition to the college experience.

      1. Guidance 507 – Opening Doors to Student Effectiveness
        Limitation on enrollment: Participation in Opening Doors Program is required.
        Designed for returning and continuing students to adress the academic and personal challenges of student effectiveness. Various assessment tools are employed to identify and evaluate student preparation and attitude for a successful college experience. New and improved methods of study, time management, and the utilization of college support programs are mastered and applied.

      2. Guidance 2 – Essentials of Student Success is a CSU transferable course designed to help students learn essential student success skills and strategies.

      3. Guidance 3 – Career Exploration and Planning is a CSU transferable course that meets general education subject and AA/AS degree requirements. It is designed to help students explore career and major goals and objectives.
