Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program A California State Approved Program

General Program Information
Chaffey College’s Phlebotomy Technician Training Program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to qualify to complete the certification exam required by the State of California.
Programs are offered once in the fall and once in the spring. You must attend an information session to be considered for entry into the program.
Information sessions are posted on this website at least two months before the program start date. The next set of information sessions are anticipated in late May/early June 2017.
The program spans approximately 8 weeks and includes 68 hours of in-class training and 80 hours of clinical training.
General Eligibility Requirements
Attend an information session listed below
Possess a high school diploma or GED at the time of registration
Be able to pass medical screening
Be able to pass background check
Be able to perform physically demanding tasks
Please do not pursue health screening, physical exams, or background checks until you attend an information session. Doing so may result in outdated or incomplete information and additional expenses to you.
$2,299 plus additional costs for materials, background check, physical exam, and certification exam. This program does not result with college credit nor does it meet prerequisite requirements for college credit courses. This program is not eligible for financial aid, fee waivers, or student loans.
Updates for Spring 2017 Program Applicants
All information sessions for the spring 2017 are complete. Applicants must have attended one of the sessions offered in December 2016 to be eligible for the spring 2017 program.
Registration for the spring 2017 program opens January 9, 2017. January 5th was announced at the information sessions; however, we are currently offering registration on Mondays only. Please view the day(s) and hours below during which applicants may visit the Community Education office to submit eligibility documentation and register for the program. Please allow plenty of time for parking and ensure you display a valid parking permit. Parking information is listed below.

Tuberculosis Test (TB) Update: Some individuals recently asked whether a blood test is acceptable. Because one of our clinical sites cannot accept this form of the test, we also cannot accept this form of the test. Please refer to the letter you received at the information session regarding TB tests.
FREE Mandatory Information Sessions
This information session is intended to provide you with necessary details about Chaffey College's Phlebotomy Technician Training program and eligibility requirements. Sessions are held at the Rancho Cucamonga Campus. Please arrive on time. Late individuals will not be admitted. You are not required to bring any documents or information with you to the information session.
