Our mission is to promote campus safety, well-being, and success by assisting faculty, staff, and students who are concerned about the behavior of a student
The BIT provides a proactive, coordinated, and planned approach to the identification, prevention, assessment, and response to the reported concern. After reports of concern are submitted to the BIT, our diverse and knowledgeable team will review and assess each report individually and direct or recommend appropriate intervention. Possible responses or recommendations may include:
Continue to observe student behavior
Referrals to student health and other support services
Report concerns to appropriate parties, (e.g. School Dean)
Discuss with faculty or staff possible approaches to mitigate the situation
Alert appropriate authorities, if necessary
The team serves as a resource, providing referrals, consultation, and support to the campus community. The BIT is committed to the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Chaffey College. The Campus Police Department must be contacted when there is perceived and/or clear danger to campus safety and well-being.
