2015 Volleyball team

Cassidy Boone PANTHERS END SEASON WITH LOSS AT RIVERSIDE (11/23/15)
The Lady Panthers traveled to Riverside Saturday for a ply-in round against RCC in the CCCAA state championship playoffs. Cassidy Boone led the Panthers in scoring, followed closely by Destiny Moore and Taylor Holcomb. The Panthers finished the 2015 season 19-11 and Foothill Conference Champions.
PANTHERS HEADED TO CCCAA PLAYOFFS (11/20/15)
The ladies were seeded #18 in the south today and will take on #15 Riverside City College tomorrow at 7pm in the southern play-in round. The winner will advance to play #2 LA Pierce Tuesday evening. [bracket]
Hanna Sanchez SANCHEZ LEADS STATE (11/19/15)
Hanna Sanchez is currently ranked #1 in the state with 718 digs, averaging 6.71 per set.
Taylor Holcomb PANTHERS EARN THIRD CONSECUTIVE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP (11/19/15)
The Lady Panthers defeated Victor Valley Friday evening to claim their third consecutive Foothill Conference championship. Led by Taylor Holcomb with 16.5 points (22 in the state), the Panthers defeated the Rams in 4 games to claim the title. Destiny Mroz (19 in the state) had an equally impressive showing with 16 points. Friday's win clinched the Panthers 4th recent conference title and propels them into the state playoff race, seeding to be announced.
CHAFFEY TAKES OUT DESERT IN QUEST FOR FOOTHILL CHAMPIONSHIP (11/12/15)
The ladies continued their winning streak last night, defeating Desert in four. Fridays game against Victor Valley (at VVC) will determine the final Foothill Conference championship.
PANTHERS DEFEAT SAN BERNARDINO TO GRAB #1 SLOT (11/9/15)
The ladies hosted San Bernardino Valley Friday, defeating the Wolverines 3-1 to grab the Foothill Conference top spot. The team takes on Desert at home Wednesday and Victor Valley on the road Friday to close out the final Foothill Conference season.
Hanna Sanchez LADIES DEFEAT CERRO COSO (11/5/15)
The Panthers were on the road yesterday, defeating the Cerro Coso Lady Coyotes 3-0. Emily Cotter and Taylor Holcomb lead with 6 kills each. Hanna Sanchez continues as one of the state's top liberos with 15 digs against the Coyotes. The team hosts Valley Friday evening.
Taylor Holcomb PANTHERS TIED FOR FIRST PLACE - BEAT RIO HONDO 3-1 (10/29/15)
The ladies continued to light up the court last night, defeating Rio Hondo 3-1 to remain tied for first place in the Foothill Conference with College of the Desert. Taylor Holcomb led the squad with 17.5 points, followed by Destiny Mroz with 14. The team takes on Cerro Coso in Ridgecrest next Wednesday.
Destiny Mroz PANTHERS SHUT OUT VVC (10/26/15)
The Panthers continued their court-wide dominance Friday, defeating Victor Valley 3-0 in Foothill Conference play. Destiny Mroz again outscored all other players with 14.5 points, 12 kills, and 21 digs. Taylor Holcomb followed closely behind with 14 points, 13 kills, and 5 digs. The team takes on Rio Hondo Wednesday.
Destiny Mroz PANTHERS BEAT DESERT IN FIVE (10/22/15)
The ladies were on the road yesterday, defeating the Desert Roadrunners 3-2 to remain in the running for the Foothill Conference title. Destiny Mroz lead the Panther offense with 23.5 points scored over the five sets. She also led the team in kills with a .514 kill percentage on 35 attempts. The team hosts Victor Valley Friday for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness game with a presentation by ESPN reporter and cancer survivor Shelley Smith following afterwards. Admission to the game and Smith presentation are free.

 

LADY PANTHERS HOST ESPN REPORTER SHELLEY SMITH FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS NIGHT (10/15/15)
The Chaffey College Foundation invites family, friends, and fans to join us for a night of volleyball and inspiration in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Emmy award winning ESPN reporter Shelley Smith will be share her story of survival at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 23rd following the Panthers match against Victory Valley College. Luminary bags that will line the Sports Center walkway may be pre-purchased. Contact the Chaffey College Foundation for more information or to purchase online.

PANTHERS SCORE WIN AGAINST SBVC (10/15/15)
The ladies scored another conference win last night, defeating the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines 3-1. The team has a week-long break, resuming play next Wednesday October 21st at College of the Desert.
PANTHERS SHUT OUT CERRO COSO (10/12/15)
The ladies hosted Cerro Coso Friday evening, defeating the Coyotes 3-0. The team travels to San Bernardino Wednesday for continued Foothill Conference play.
LADIES FALL TO RIO IN CONFERENCE OPENER (10/8/15)
In three close matches, the Panthers fell 3-0 to the Rio Hondo Roadrunners last night in the 2015 Foothill Conference opener. The team plays at home tomorrow against Cerrro Coso.
PANTHERS MAKE CONSOLATION PLAYOFFS AT SAN DIEGO TOURNEY (9/28/15)
The ladies defeated Skyline College 3-1 and fell to Glendale (Arizona) and host San Diego City to advance to the consolation round at last weekend's tournament. In consolation play, the Panthers were 1-0 over Skyline and 0-1 with Taft. The team starts Foothill Conference play next Wednesday at Rio Hondo.
Destiny Mroz PANTHERS 1-1 AT LA PIERCE QUAD (9/21/15)
The team continued quad tournament play Saturday at LA Pierce, falling to Grossmont before defeating Long Beach - each in three games. The ladies travel to San Diego this weekend for the final tournament match-up before beginning the Foothill Conference season on Wednesday, October 7th at Rio Hondo.
Taylor Holcomb PANTHERS FALL TO MT SAC IN FOUR (9/21/15)
Taylor Holcomb led the Panthers in points (13) and kills (12) Friday but ultimately, the Panthers fell to Mt SAC in four games. The ladies traveled to Pierce Saturday for quad play.
Destiny Mroz PANTHERS 1-1 AT ELAC (9/10/15)
The ladies went one and one yesterday at East LA, defeating Glendale in three, then falling to Mira Costa in three. Emily Cotter had an impressive .583 kill percentage off 12 attempts, scoring 9.5 points for the Panthers (over 3 sets). The team travels to Saddleback Friday to take on Santa Ana and Saddleback in quad play.

PANTHERS 3-1 ON WEEKEND (9/8/15)
The ladies opened weekend play Friday at Southwestern, shutting out the Jags 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-18) before taking the Long Beach Quad by storm on Saturday, defeating Arizona Mesa and Allan Hancock. The team continues away play this week at ELAC and Saddleback, returning to the Sports Center on the 18th to take on Mt SAC.
LADIES DEFEAT CITRUS 3-2 IN HOME OPENER (9/3/15)
The Lady Panthers opened the home season last night, defeating the Citrus Owls 3-2 (16-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-12, 15-7). The women are on the road for the next two weeks with tournament play at Long Beach, East LA, and Saddleback as well as single match against Southwestern this Friday.

PANTHERS OPEN SEASON AT LA PIERCE TOURNEY (8/3/1/15)
The ladies officially opened the season last weekend at the LA Pierce College Tournament, going 1-3 against Santa Barbara, Pierce, Bakersfield, and Mt San Jacinto. The team host Citrus Wednesday evening.

SHELTON LEADS PANTHERS AGAINST EL CAMINO (12/1/14)
The ladies traveled to El Camino last week for Round 1 of the 2014 CCCAA Playoffs, falling to the #4 ranked Warriors 3-0. Sophomore Asia Shelton led the Panthers with 7 kills, three digs, and 8 points. The team finishes the season 20-8 and Foothill Conference Champions.

The #13 Panthers will travel to El Camino tomorrow to take on the #4 Warriors in Round 1 of the 2014 CCCAA Playoffs. The South Coast Conference champion Warriors finished the regular season 21-2.
Asia Shelton PANTHERS CLAIM CONFERENCE TITLE WITH 3-2 WIN OVER VVC (11/17/14)
The ladies hosted Victor Valley Friday evening in hopes of claiming a co-conference championship with VVC. The ladies went 5 games against the Rams, pulling out a 15-9 win in the final game of the 2014 regular season. The two teams will share the conference title, with both squad finishing the conference season 9-1. Friday, the Panthers were led by Asia Shelton with 17 kills, 10 digs, and 23 points.
Taylor Lewis PANTHERS DEFEAT DESERT, BIG GAME FRIDAY (11/13/14)
The ladies swept Desert last night 3-0 and now prepare for their final game of the 2014 regular/conference season against Victor Valley. Taylor Lewis led the Panthers with 16 points and 13 kills. Friday at 5:30, the team will host the conference undefeated Rams in a Foothill Conference Championship deciding match.
PANTHER VOLLEYBALL#22 IN THE STATE (11/12/14)
Going into the final week of the 2014 regular season, Panther Volleyball is ranked #22 in the state, #18 in the south. The ladies face off against Desert tonight and then battle for the Foothill Conference title Friday at home against Victor Valley.
Taylor Lewis LADIES SWEEP SAN BERARDINO AT HOME (11/8/14)
The ladies hosted San Bernardino Valley, sweeping the Wolverines for the second time this season. Taylor Lewis again led the Panthers with 15 points scored, 9 kills and 4 digs. Valerie Rivera had 12 digs. Marissa Sergent had an impressive 13.5 points. The ladies are on the road Wednesday at College of the Desert and return home Friday for the Foothill Conference deciding game against Victor Valley.

The ladies swept Cerro Coso 3-0 yesterday. Taylor Lewis led with 15 kills, 3 digs and 19.5 points scored for the Panther squad. The ladies host San Bernardino Valley Friday evening.

For the second week, Panther Volleyball holds onto a Top 20 state slot, coming in at #18 in the state and #12 in the south.

Panther Volleyball was back on track last night, defeating the Rio Hondo Roadrunners 3-0. Diane Luna scored an impressive 27 digs. Asia Shelton led the Panthers with 13 digs and 14 points. The ladies have a bye Friday and return to the court against Cerro Coso November 5th (away).

Despite a loss to Victor Valley last Friday, Panther Volleyball holds onto a Top 20 state slot, coming in at #18 this week. The ladies remain the only Foothill Conference ranked team.
Diane Luna DIANE LUNA SCORES 40 DIGS AGAINST VVC (10/27/14)
The ladies took on Victor Valley Friday in a battle for Foothill first, falling to the Rams 3-0. Marissa Sergent led the Panthers in kills with 10 and points (13.5). Diane Luna had 40 digs across the three sets. The ladies resume play Wednesday against Rio Hondo.

The ladies defeated College of the Desert yesterday 3-2 to remain undefeated in the Foothill Conference. The team travels to Victor Valley Friday evening to take on the Rams in a battle for Foothill first place. Both teams go into Friday's match-up 4-0.

The Lady Panthers continue to inhabit the #15 state/#9 regional spot this week. The team hosts Desert Wednesday night in continued Foothill action.
Diane Luna PANTHERS REMAIN CONFERENCE UNDEFEATED WITH SWEEP OF VALLEY (10/16/14)
The ladies swept San Bernardino Valley last night 3-0 to remain undefeated in Foothill Conference play. Marissa Sergent led the Panthers with 17.5 points and 12 kills across the 3 game series. Libero Diane Luna had 30 digs. With 408 digs this season, Luna is #2 in the statewide rankings. The team has a bye this week and return to the Sports Center court next Wednesday, taking on Desert at 5:30.

For the fourth week week in a row, Chaffey Volleyball is ranked #15 in the state and #9 in the south in the CCC Women's Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The team returns to the court after a ten day break, taking on Rio Hondo at home Wednesday in the Foothill Conference opener.

The ladies fell to Arizona team from Chandler-Gilbert and Cuesta Saturday to move into the San Diego City Tournament's consolation bracket where they dominated both Cuyamaca and Rio Hondo to take the bracket championship. Asia Shelton was named to the All-Tournament team. The team has a break this week, opening conference play at home against Rio Hondo Wednesday, October 8th.

LADY PANTHERS TAKE 2ND AT MESA INVITATIONAL (9/22/14)
After defeating both Bakersfield (3-0) and LA Pierce (3-1), the Lady Panthers advanced to the championship round of the San Diego Mesa Invitational, falling to Grossmont 0-3. The team continues tournament play this weekend at the San Diego City Tournament and opens the Foothill Conference season on 10/8 at home against the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners.
Diane Luna PANTHERS SWEEP AVC AT HOME (9/18/14)
The ladies hosted their old Foothill Conference foe, Antelope Valley yesterday, defeating the Marauders 3-0. Diane Luna led the Panthers with 26 digs while Asia Shelton and Taylor Lewis scored 11 points each for the Panther offense. The ladies are on the road this weekend for the San Diego Mesa Invitational.

In today's CCC Women's Volleyball Coaches Association poll, the Lady Panthers moved up one spot to #15 in the state and #9 in the south.
Brooke Freeman LADIES SWEEP SANTA ANA AND SADDLEBACK AT HOME (9/15/14)
The ladies hosted the second quad this week, sweeping both Saddleback and Santa Ana for their seventh consecutive win this season. Brooke Freeman led the Panthers in digs with 27. Taylor Lewis had 14 kills across the two games and scored 17 points for the Panther squad. The ladies continue their home run Wednesday against Antelope Valley at 5pm in the Sports Center.
PANTHERS WIN TWO AT HOME (9/11/14)
The ladies hosted their first of two Chaffey Quads yesterday, taking on Mira Costa and Glendale, defeating both teams. Against Mira Costa, the Panthers went 3-1 (25-23, 24-14, 20-25, 28-26) before seeping Glendale (25-8, 25-16, 25-18). The squad hosts Santa Ana and Saddleback Friday afternoon.

In today's CCC Women's Volleyball Coaches Association poll, the Lady Panthers were ranked #16 in the state and #9 in the south.
Valerie Rivera PANTHERS SCORE TWO WINS AT PIERCE (9/8/14)
The ladies swept through LA Pierce Saturday scoring wins against host Pierce and Ventura. Valerie Rivera stood out against Pierce racking up an impressive 16 points, 11 kills, and 7 digs. The Lady Panthers host two Chaffey Quads this week - Wednesday and Friday.
Marissa Sergent LADIES GO 1-1 AT LONG BEACH (9/8/14)
The ladies split the Long Beach Quad with a win over host LBCC and a loss to El Camino. Marissa Sergent led the Panthers against Long Beach, scoring 14.5 points with 11 kills, 2 digs and 3 blocks. Gisela Govea followed closely behind with 13 points, 13 kills and 5 digs. The ladies continued play Saturday at Pierce.
Asia Shelton PANTHERS SWEEP SOUTHWESTERN AT HOME (9/4/14)
The ladies opened the 2014 home season with a 3-0 sweep of Southwestern (25-9, 25-8, 25-11). Asia Shelton led the Panthers with 9 kills and 4 digs. Gisela Govea and Taylor Lewis had 6 kills each. The ladies continue play Friday at Long Beach and Saturday at LA Pierce.
Marissa Sergent PANTHERS OPEN 2014 ON THE ROAD (9/2/14)
Panther Volleyball opened the 2014 season at Grossmont Saturday, falling to Palomar and Grossmont. Marissa Sergent led the Panthers over the 2 game Quad appearance with 15 points, 5 digs, 2 blocks, and 11 kills. Diane Luna has 26 digs, followed by Brooke Freeman with 18. The block leader with Shanice Alexander with 6. The ladies open the home season tomorrow against Southwestern at 5:30pm.
